- Sikhs do not wear shoes inside the temple.
- Why? This is a mark of detachment - you do not take the world with you when you go to God; you leave the world behind and give your mind, your heart, your love to God.
- So they have a shoe room, where you can leave your shoes (which symbolise the world) somewhere, safely.

The gurdwara shoe room is used to keep shoes in. So when the Sikhs pray to there holly book they wont have dirty shoes and this is sapost to show respect for god. :)
