  • A mandir usually has the one shrine containing three statues and small idols around the sides or to the left and right of the main shrine.
  • Depending on the main deity (for example, a Shiva Mandir) there may be other Gods and Goddesses present. Shiva Mandirs will usually have Parvathi or Kali. They may also have Ganesha (Ganapathi) and Murugan (Subramanium)

A mandir just comprises of one big room. There are no hidden rooms nor side rooms, usually.
