- Sikhs do not wear shoes inside the temple.
- Why? This is a mark of detachment - you do not take the world with you when you go to God; you leave the world behind and give your mind, your heart, your love to God.
- So they have a shoe room, where you can leave your shoes (which symbolise the world) somewhere, safely.
- They also have to take their shoes off beacuse they do not want to get the religous place to get dirty, as it is an important place for people.
